CITIZENS ADVISORY COUNCIL
The CAC is a group of citizens and representatives from local PTA's that serves in an advisory capacity to the elected school board. The CAC sponsors educational programming for members and provides them with the opportunity to study and have input into curriculum, education policy, redistricting, and budget.
CULTURAL ARTS
The cultural arts committee is designed to plan educational programs for EMMS students. Programs are selected to enhance the student’s learning experience in the areas of music, dance, drama, literature, art and history with presentations from various local authors, musicians and dancers. The programs tie into each grade level’s unit of study.
DRAMA COMMITTEE
Sponsored by the PTA, the EMMS Drama Club was formed to give students exposure to theatre arts, including improvisation, drama, comedy, musical theatre, playwriting and stage craft. The club is free and open to all students. Space is limited. For the 2009-2010 school year, the club is offering a Fall Improv and TV Workshop where students will develop and tape original short skits and commercials. In addition, starting in January in 2010, the club will start production on a musical comedy. Possible shows include Seussical, Alice in Wonderland or Godspell. The club is run by parent volunteers, and the committee is seeking volunteers to help produce, direct, choreograph, stage manage, work with audio & lighting, design and paint sets, create costumes, sell tickets and assist with publicity. Please e-mail Todd Hochkeppel at hoch2hoch@aol.com if you can help in any way.

Dues are $10.00 a year per person, which helps support many PTA programs at EMMS. Joining PTA doesn’t take any of your time, but is a great way to show your support of our school and outstanding faculty and staff. Become a PTA member!
PUBLICITY
Publicity is responsible for informing the school community and the community at large of all the wonderful things happening at EMMS. We need volunteers interested in attending school events to take photographs and write press releases about the events to be submitted to the local media and displayed within the school. Volunteers are also needed to assist with the PTA Publicity Record book. Story ideas, student news or school success stories, along with digital photos can be sent to Todd Hochkeppel who will forward to appropriate press contacts. If sending photos, please list the names of the people in the photo, as well as the noting the photographer. Todd’s e-mail: Hoch2hoch@aol.com
